Habitat:

Horn flies are most commonly found on farms and ranches. The adult will find a suitable host and remain on it and others in the same herd for life.

Food:

Male typically feed around 20 times and female around 40 times daily, and when not feeding they tend to rest around the horn region of the host. They primarily feed on cattle but, to a lesser extent, horses, sheep and goats
